David Myers, 80 of Oswego, IL. passed away on Friday, May 13, 2022 at Rush-Copley Medical Center in Aurora, IL. During his last 10 years of life, David fought cancer with courage and dignity. He was born on April 1 1942 in Quincy, IL., the first-born son of Raymond and Dorotha Myers of Mt. Sterling, IL. David marred his best friend and life-long love Anne in 1969, and they spent almost 53 years together. David graduated from Western Illinois University with a degree in Education. He was hired by Oswego School District 308 and spent the next 34 years there before retiring in 1999. During his tenure he coached football, wrestling, track and finished his career as assistant athletic director. He is survived by his siblings, William of Lincolnshire, John of Chicago, and Jack (Donna) of Arlington Heights. Preceded in death by his parents and sister-in-law Fran. Gifts in his memory may be given to a charity of choice, St. Jude's Children's Hospital, Wounded Warriors or World Central Kitchen Ukraine.
