David McQueen, 88, of Montgomery, IL, passed away on Tuesday, February 23, 2021, at Seasons Hospice at Holy Cross Hospital in Chicago.
Born in Newman, IL, to Charles Donald and Olive (Warnes) McQueen, David would serve his country honorably in the United States Army before going on the earn his Master's Degree from the University of Illinois.
David is survived by his loving wife, Betty (nee Dyar), and their four children – Joseph (Theresa), Becky (Dave) Saffold, Beth (Rich) Louge, and Kay McQueen. He is also survived by his grandchildren- Angi (Troy) Schopp, Jackie (Kevin) Kreuzer, David (Amy) Saffold, Sarah Saffold, Kristi (Brian) Ziegler, Nick Louge, Brittany (Dan) Tanzer, Jacob (Jessica) Wilhoyt, and Rachel Peters. He will be deeply missed by his 15 great-grandchildren, 6 great-great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Charles Donald McQueen and Olive Warnes.
David served the Oswego School District as a School District Administrator for 22 years and was a long time member of the Good Shepherd Church of Oswego and the Lions Club where he was a cherished member of the community.
A visitation will be held at on Friday, February 26, 2021, from 10:00 A.M. – 2:00 P.M. at Dunn Family Funeral Home with Crematory, 1801 South Douglas Road, Oswego IL 60543, with a private family burial to follow.
In lieu of flowers, donations in David's name may be made to the Parkinson's Foundation, Season's Hospice, or the Church of the Good Shepherd of Oswego.
