David Jerome "Jerry" Hollenback, Jr., age 55, died Thursday, November 9, 2023 at OSF St Anthony Medical Center in Rockford, IL from injuries received in a residential accident. He was born September 12, 1968 in Sandwich, IL.

Jerry was a member of the Class of 1986 of Newark High School in Newark, IL. He was an avid sports fan who followed Newark High School basketball, University of Illinois basketball and football. (He had the experience to go the Rose Bowl when the U of I played there.)

He is survived by his parents Candis Larson and David J Hollenback, Sr. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Raymond & Hollis nee Gary Larson, paternal grandparents George & Sally nee Sievertson Hollenback, aunt Patricia (Robert) Furr, two uncles Jeffrey Larson and George (Jane) Hollenback.

Visitation will take place on Friday, November 17, 2023 from 1:00 PM until the funeral service at 2:00 PM at the GABEL-DUNN FUNERAL HOME, LTD, 102 S Johnson St, Newark, IL with Pastor Sharon Engert officiating. Private burial will take place at the Millington-Newark Cemetery in Millington, IL.

Memorials may be directed to either the charity of the donor's choice or Millbrook United Methodist Church or any local American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.
