David Alan Futrell, 59, of Norway passed Wednesday morning November 9, 2016 at OSF. St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria. David was born August 23, 1957 in Ottawa to Jack & Ruth (Richmond) Futrell. He was a 1975 graduate of Serena High School and had worked as a general laborer in construction, helping his grandfather & step father caring for local cemeteries and had worked in professional fireworks shows. He was a member of the Community of Christ Church. He is survived by his son, Levi Futrell of Norway; two daughters, Casey Flewellen of Beach City, TX, Courtney Futrell of Montgomery, TX; three grandchildren, Kalynn, Kyle, Luke; his mother & step father, Ruth & Jim Lowers of Norway; two sisters, Teresa Smith of LaSalle, Karen Lowers of Rochester, MN. and many nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Jack Futrell; his paternal grandparents, Orville & Anna Futrell and his maternal grandparents, Cicero & Doris Richmond. There will be a gathering of family and friends from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. Sunday November 13th with a memorial service officiated by Pastor Tami Perryman and Elder Jack Wise at 2:00 p.m. at the Gabel-Dunn Funeral Home Ltd. in Sheridan.
