David Vaughn Bratcher, 71, of Sugar Grove formerly of Montgomery, passed away in the early morning hours of May 19th due to complications post-surgery at Delnor Hospital. David is survived by his loving wife of 48 years Kathy (Clark) Bratcher, three daughters, and seven grandchildren: Sarah (Michael) Lyons, Clara, Emmi, Raelyn; Alyson (James) McKean, Jameson, Bode; Karyn (Ken) Dobizl, Grace, Isaac; Sister Gayle (Rich) Kastory; Sister-in-laws Pamela (Clark) Curtis, Betsy (Clark) Broom. David was a loving husband, father, Papa, musician, teacher, coach, golfer, and friend to most. He spent 34 years as Department Chair and teacher of Special Education at Waldo Middle School of Aurora. He enjoyed spending over 30 summers making friends and working at Fox Bend Golf Course in Oswego. He was a life-long musician and shared his love of music with his family and friends. He spent hours on the baseball and softball fields as a player and coach to his daughters. He enjoyed watching his grandchildren in all of their activities and reading stories on his chair. His laughter, jokes, and sarcasm will be missed by all - live long and prosper. Due to the current pandemic, a celebration of life will be held when possible.
