David A. Blomberg, age 72, of Oswego, IL peacefully passed away with his family by his side on Tuesday, January 30, 2018 at Rush-Copley Medical Center in Aurora, IL. He was born July 31, 1945, in Chicago, IL, the son of Warner and Alice nee Erickson Blomberg.
Dave spent his career working in sales and direct marketing until his retirement. He was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Naperville, IL. Dave was a die-hard fan of the Chicago Bears, and loved golfing, tennis and running, amongst many other things. His life-long vacation spot was at Harbert Beach on Lake MI - truly his happy place. Most of all, he was a true family man and loved spending time with his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife of almost 50 years Cynthia nee Rakow, children Beth Blomberg of Oswego, IL, Michael Blomberg of Elgin, IL, Joy (Dan) Wons of Aurora, IL, Lynne (Daniel) Sovero of Ottawa, IL, grandchildren Timothy Kasuba, Kara Wons, Matthew Wons, Ella Wons, Michaella Sovero, Dylan Sovero, Isabella Sovero, sister Jean Reddel of Highland, IN and his faithful Golden Retriever Benny.
He is preceded in death by his parents, step mother Helen Blomberg, granddaughter Abigail Kasuba and a brother Donald in infancy.
A service will be held on Friday, February 16, 2018 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 1310 Shepherd Drive, Naperville, IL 60565. There will be a gathering of family and friends in the narthex from 9:00 AM to 11 AM, and then a memorial service to follow at 11 AM in the sanctuary.
