Daniel Adam Zalenka, age 32, of Aurora, IL died suddenly on Friday, December
26, 2014 of natural causes at Rush-Copley Medical Center in Aurora, IL. He was
born January 21, 1982 in Middleburg Heights, OH.
Dan, a graduate of Duquesne University, was presently employed as an
application systems administrator in the IT Enterprise Solutions department of
Cadence Health in Carol Stream, IL and previously at Dearborn National in
Downers Grove, IL as a systems software program specialist.
Dan is survived by his wife Natalie S (née Hall) Zalenka, step-sons Ian,
Cameron and Joshua Wagner, all at home; his mother Clare M (née Koch) Zalenka;
his father and step-mother John J and Linda S (née Sheperd) Zalenka of North
Royalton, OH; sisters Rachel (Aaron) Kelly of North Ridgeville, OH, Julie
Zalenka (Brian Fetzner) of Delevan, NY; brother Eric Zalenka of Novi, MI and
nephews Colton Fetzner and Chase Kelly.
Dan was a lover of all sports. A star athlete in both soccer and baseball in
high school, a lifelong Cleveland Browns fan, a Pittsburgh Penguins fan from his
days at Duquesne and active involvement in youth sports filled much of his
leisure time. Dan was currently the Vice President of Baseball for the OBSA
(Oswego Baseball Softball Association) and coached both baseball and basketball
teams.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Friday, January 2, 2015 from
4:00 to 8:00 PM at the DUNN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME with CREMATORY 1801 Douglas
Road Oswego, IL. Cremation was accorded the wish of the family at American
Crematory in Oswego, IL.
