Daniel Scott Whitt, 57, of Waterman, IL, passed away on February 5, 2022, at Northwestern Medicine Kishwaukee Hospital in Dekalb. He was born in Aurora, IL, to Russell and Janice nee Leifheit Whitt. Dan went on to honorably serve his country in the United States Navy from 1984-1989 before becoming a Union plumber. Dan loved being outside, whether it was gardening, grilling, riding his snowmobile, or fishing. He also enjoyed working on his hobby RC cars and planes. But most of all, Dan was a doting father to his son Daniel- he was his whole world. Being the free spirit that he was, Dan marched to the beat of his own drum and did things his own way- something his family and friends will remember him for fondly. He is survived by his son, Daniel Whitt, and his mother, Janice Whitt; also surviving are his siblings, Mike (Kim Doggett) Whitt, Sue Leifheit, Mark (Susanne) Whitt, and Amy (Patrick) Insco. Many beloved nieces and nephews also survive. He is preceded in death by his father, Russell Whitt. Cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial service will be held on Friday, February 25, 2022 from 2:00 P.M. – 5:30 P.M. at Dunn Family Funeral Home with Crematory, 1801 South Douglas Rd.
