Cruz Elva Diaz, 65, of Montgomery, IL, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, November 24, 2020. Born in San Jose De La Boca, Durango, Mexico to Ignacio and Maria Gamboa, Cruz Elva married Gerardo Diaz in 1975 in Chicago, IL. She is survived by her beloved husband, Gerardo, and their three children; Delia, Gerardo Jr., and Alejandro, and her six grandchildren; Israel Isaac Hernandez, Jacqueline Angelique Diaz, Josue Neftali Hernandez, Crystal Aline Hernandez, Giovanni Nathaniel Hernandez, and Elva Nathalia Diaz. She is also survived by her mother, Maria De La Luz Gamboa, and her siblings; Hortencia Lozano, Rosa Maria Navar, Susana Rodriguez, Gloria Campos, Guadalupe Martinez, and Jesus Ignacio Gamboa. Cruz Elva is preceded in death by her father, Ignacio Gamboa, and her uncle Felix Gamboa. She was a beloved friend to many, and well known in her community for her kindness and willingness to help anyone who needed it. She was strong in her Jehovah Wittiness faith, and passed that on to her family. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 1, 2020, from 4:00 – 8:00 P.M. at DUNN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME with CREMATORY, 1801 S. Douglas Road, Oswego, IL 60543.
