Melvin "Tommy" Cox, age 52, of Plainfield, IL passed peacefully into God's loving arms on Monday, October 21, 2013 at his residence. He was born August 12, 1961 in San Angelo, TX. Tommy was a member of the Shorewood Church of God in Shorewood, IL. Tommy is survived by his wife Tracy nee Thime Cox, two daughters Susan (Mason) Wallace of Round Rock, TX, Madison Cox at home, two sons Thomas "TJ" Cox of Metairie, LA, Christopher Cox at home; six grandchildren, Perrin, Aleksander and Julianna Wallace, Ava, Lucy and Michael Cox; his mother Jonnie (Thom) Abreu of Grand Prairie, TX, a sister Teresa Cook of Plainfield, IL, two brothers John "Sonny" (Paily) Lightsey of Gonzales, TX. Travis (Susan) Crump of Sulfur Springs, TX; his in-laws Kenneth and Patricia Thime of Algonquin, IL, and several fond nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son Michael A. Cox, father Melvin "Mel" Cox, sister Holly Swift and brother Richard "Ricky" Cox. A Memorial Service will be held on the 26th day of October 2013 at 2pm at the Shorewood Church of God 203 School Rd Shorewood, IL. Cremation was accorded the wishes of the family.
