Clarence W. Black, age 89, of Aurora, IL, passed away Saturday, May 9, 2015 at Seasons Hospice in Naperville, IL. He was born March 23, 1926, in Harford, WI, the son of Frank and Louise nee Borgmann Black. Clarence proudly served his country in the U.S. Army Air Force during World War II. Prior to retirement, he worked in material control at Fermilab in Batavia, IL. He was an Elder of St. Luke's Lutheran Church in Montgomery, IL. He left a great legacy by his faith and devotion to the Lord. He was also a part of the German Club of Montgomery/Aurora, IL, and was a Boy Scout leader for many years. Clarence had a passion for rock collecting and photographing wild flowers. He was an avid Green Bay Packers fan.
He is survived by his wife Joyce Black of Aurora, IL, son David Black of Aurora, IL, daughter Diane (Patrick) Dailey of Downers Grove, IL, grandchildren Jason Black of Aurora, IL, Tiffany (Arlan) Syverson of Yorkville, IL, great-grandchildren Magdelynn and Evelynne of Yorkville, IL and a nephew Terry (Pat) Lechner of WI.
He is preceded in death by his parents and a sister Florence Lechner.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 16, 2015 from 9:00 AM until a funeral service at Noon at St. Luke's Lutheran Church, 63 Fernwood Road, Montgomery, IL 60538. Burial with military honors will follow at Lincoln Memorial Park Cemetery in Aurora, IL. Memorials may be directed to St. Luke's Lutheran Church.
