Charmaine Lois Pearson, 89, of Norway passed Wednesday, June 28, 2017 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria. Charmaine was born December 4, 1927 in Plano to LaVerne L. & Emma M. (Springer) Wallis. She married Harold C. Pearson May 21, 1949 in Ottawa. Harold passed May 20, 1998. Charmaine was a member of the Norway United Methodist Church and had served as Sunday School supervisor & church financial secretary for many years. She had also been a member of the Norway Ladies Aid. She is survived by her two daughters, Kathy (Ed) Mufich of Norway, Jan (John) Murphy of Norway; her five grandchildren, Lana Mufich, John Murphy IV, Colleen Murphy, Michaela Murphy, Brendan Murphy; a sister, Starlynn (Neil) Lobdell of Plano; her two brothers, Don (Jinny) Wallis of Freemont, IN. and Jim (Jane) Wallis of Mendota. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Harold; three sisters, Myrleen Martner, Beverly Tuntland and Margaretta Maier. Visitation will be held from 9:00 – 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 1st with the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. officiated by Pastor Richard Fassig at the Norway United Methodist Church, 3650th Rd. just off IL Rt. 71 in Norway. Interment will follow at the Norway Cemetery. Pallbearers will be John Murphy IV, Brendan Murphy, Terrie Martin, Neil Lobdell, Gary Morel and Scott Eike. Honorary pallbearers will be Don Wallis, Jim Wallis, Bob Martner and Wayne Borchsenius. Memorials may be directed to the Norway United Methodist Church.
