Carolyn Kay Higgins, age 81, of Oswego, IL peacefully passed away with her loving family by her side on Monday, March 4, 2024 at Bickford of Oswego. She was born September 17, 1942 in Mendota, IL, the daughter of Nolan and Esta Williams. She married Bob Higgins in 1959 and together they loved and built a life full of family and centered on God. After moving to Oswego, she worked as a secretary for the YMCA and later for the Presbyterian church. She was heavily involved in Park Place Baptist Church for many years. Her specialty was always working with children. She also supported Samaritans Purse, spending many hours volunteering for them. Carolyn and Bob met many wonderful friends through their various missionary works as well.

She was preceded in death by her son David Higgins, her father Nolan Williams and her mother Esta Williams as well as brothers-in-law, William Richardson, Dale Denault and Elmer Zinke.

She is survived by her husband of almost 65 years Robert "Bob" Higgins, daughters Nancy (Nicholas) Kish, Joyce Luczyn, granddaughters Alisha (John) Miklosik, Mary (Renee) Padilla, Angela (Nate) Bruns, grandsons Alexander Kish, Rudi Luczyn, Matthew Higgins, 8 great-grandchildren, sisters Ava Denault, Jane Richardson and Barb Zinke.

Visitation will be on Friday, March 8, 2024 from 10:00 AM until a funeral service at 12:00 PM (Noon) at DUNN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME with CREMATORY, 1801 S. Douglas Road, Oswego, IL 60543.

Burial will follow at Restland Cemetery in Mendota, IL.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Carolyn's family to then be sent to Samaritan's Purse.
