Ralph Glenn Burton, age 84, of Oswego, IL went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, September 21, 2014 at Seasons Hospice in Naperville, IL.He was born February 20, 1930 in Oswego, IL the son of the late William D and Doris J nee Osborne Burton. He was a longtime member of St Luke's Lutheran Church in Montgomery, IL, where he was involved in many activities over the years. He served with the US Army during the Korean Conflict and was awarded the Purple Heart for his injuries during battle. His truck driving career spanned six decades, hauling everything from aluminum to watermelons for several local companies, Wm F Jobbins/US Reduction Company and Fred Wayne Trucking. During his spare time he enjoyed watching Chicago Sports teams especially the Cubs and Bears. He is survived by two daughters Connie Burton of Princeton, IL, Gail Burton of Northfield, IL; a son Jeff (Linda) Burton of Montgomery, IL; five grandchildren Alicia and Krysta Burton, Gary (Jeannie) Pekoc, Charlie (Tiffany) Pekoc, Katie (Tabor) Troutman; six great grandchildren Katelyn Stanfield, Grace, Abbie, Hailey and Shelbey Pekoc, James Troutman; several nieces and nephews, as well as many dear friends.He was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years Jeanne Burton, two sisters Ruby Quantock, Dorothy Leggans, three brothers George, Jack and Roy Burton. The family would like to thank the staff at Seasons Hospice for their Compassionate care of Dad during his last days.
