Bonnie Lea Middaugh, age 73, of Somonauk, IL died Sunday, May 22, 2022, at Edward Hospital in Naperville, IL surrounded by her family and friends. She was born February 19, 1949, in Sandwich, IL the daughter of the late James B and Mary Reinhardt Riis. She was raised in Sandwich, Yorkville, and Sheridan, IL. Bonnie had worked at the Pants Factory in Sandwich, IL for years. Also, she had worked at Cascade Water Products in Yorkville, IL where she enjoyed working, loving the employees as her own family. She had a huge heart, loved, and knew everyone. She enjoyed helping people, regardless of what it was. Her grandson had her on "speed dial" he'd say I'll just call my gramma! 1-800-GRANDMA. She was always smiling and just thankful and grateful to wake up and live another day. Bonnie will be missed by all that knew her. Bonnie is survived by her son Jamie Middaugh, grandson Austin Middaugh, sisters Julie Riis Itter, Loretta Riis, Barbara Riis Cler, step and half siblings Janet Johnson, Brenda Canfield, Sharon Sexton, Dennis Menz, Tina Menz, Robin Harris, Renee Thompson, and Shari Jeffries. She was preceded in death by her parents, son Chad Middaugh, sister Mary Catherine Riis Knierim, brothers James Riis, Dale Riis, step siblings Vickie Scott, Don Heath, and Steve Brown. A huge thank you to Edward Hospital staff for the care and support they gave to Bonnie. Visitation will take place on Tuesday, May 31, 2022 from 3:00 to 6:00 PM and Wednesday, June 1, 2022 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at the GABEL-DUNN FUNERAL HOME, LTD., 333 West Church St., Sheridan, IL.
