Beverly Jane Hajek, age 98, passed away surrounded by her loving family on January 13, 2023.

She was born March 26, 1924, in Chicago, IL, and is the daughter of Jesse and Emilie nee Smith Carter.

Beverly loved volunteering at elementary schools, she greatly enjoyed reading to children. Being the Queen Bee of her hive, she was proudest of her legacy that she now leaves behind; her grandchildren and great grandchildren gave her a sense of accomplishment. She enjoyed filling her hive with homemade knitted or crocheted gifts like blankets and scarves.

She is survived by her children Beverly Cooper, Theresa Melka, Charles J. (Pat) Hajek; grandchildren Theresa Cooper, Lynda (Ryan) Cooper-Boyke, Jessica (Petar) Adamov, Bill (Nicole) Melka, Cody Melka, Charles (Beverlee) Hajek, James (Katy) Hajek, Daniel Hajek, Joseph (Tatiana) Hajek; 21 great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Charles, and brothers John and Jesse.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, March 24, 2023 11:00 A.M. at Queen of Heaven Catholic Cemetery 1400 S. Wolf Road Hillside, IL 60162.
