Betty Joanne McClure, age 87 of Oswego, IL, peacefully passed away at Hillside Nursing and Rehab in Yorkville, IL. She was born July 12, 1936 in Kewanee, IL, the daughter of George S. and Thelma Bell Staton Murdock.

Betty was a member of Yorkville Congregational Church in Yorkville, IL and previously, First Baptist Church in Poteau, OK. In her spare time she enjoyed celebrating her Irish roots, collecting Blue Willow and spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her children Donald (Shirley) Hacker, Colleen (Rich) Kent, Jim (Deanna) Hacker, Lynne (Bill) Mathey, step-daughter Janette Lux, grandchildren Lisa Hacker, Mallory (Jon) Lelah, Christine (Goddard) Wagner, Melissa (Jim) Johannessen, Michael (Dena) Hacker, Teegan Mathey, Cori Mathey, Shannon Lux, Roland (Janice) Hacker, Hannah (Trevor) Becker, great-grandchildren Evie & Jack Lelah, Melia Johannessen, sister Barbara Messmer, brother Larry Murdock and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Kenneth McClure, son Jeffrey Hacker and sister Mary Knoblock.

A gathering of family and friends will be held this summer.
