Betty "BJ" Kolzow, 88 of Aurora , IL, passed away peacefully on March 2, 2022 in the comfort of her home surrounded by loved ones. Betty is preceded in death by her husband Milt Kolzow, her parents Dorothy and Robert Gillman, as well as her sister Carol and brother-in-law Ron Scheppan. Betty leaves behind her two sons, Steve (partner Lana Hunt and former spouse Julie Kolzow) and Scott (wife Beth); her grandchildren, Kerri (35), Katie (31), Kristy (30), Tyler (24), Justin (22) and her great-grandchild, Charles Kolzow (8). Betty met her husband Milt in 1957 at the Forest Park bowling alley and they married in 1958. Betty and her husband built their dream house in Lake Carroll, IL where her and her family made memories that will last a lifetime. She enjoyed golfing, playing cards and being very involved in the community. Eventually family drew her and Milt closer and they resided in Batavia, IL for the next 15 years. She eventually moved in with her son Scott where family was able to spend quality time with her during the pandemic and her final days. Betty grew up and went to Oak Park River Forest High School and graduated in 1951. She went on to work for Kraft Foods and went back to work as a private accounting CPA when her boys were in school. One thing that kept Betty going was all of her friends; from her Kraft Food Group, to her Myrtle Beach "girls", and her golfing friends. These friends, her faith, her family, cooking/baking, and the Chicago Cubs filled her heart with love and joy for 88 years. The family will bury Betty and Milt's ashes this Spring. A short service will be held on Sunday March 6,2022 from 12:30pm-1:30pm at DUNN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME with CREMATORY, 1801 S. Douglas Rd., Oswego, IL has been entrusted with arrangements.
