Berta M. Szabo, 84, of Montgomery, IL, passed away Wednesday, December 8, 2021 at her home surrounded by her loving daughters. She was born May 17, 1937 in Regensburg, Germany, daughter to the late Alfons and Berta nee Dorfner Baumler. Berta came to the U.S.A. on September 4, 1957. She married Stephen V. Szabo on May 10, 1958 in Amherst, Ohio and became an American Citizen on February 25, 1986. Berta was a member of the St. Anne Society of the Sacred Heart for many years. Survivors include her daughters, Sharon (Laszlo) Lonyay and Elizabeth (Dave) Rogers; five grandchildren: Pamela Ervin, Eric (Amanda) Ervin, Laszlo Lonyay, Elizabeth Lonyay and Cole (Angel) Rogers; two great grandchildren: Athena Ervin and Mason Potts; her brother, Harold Baumler of Germany; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Stephen Szabo in 2015; her son, Ralph Szabo in 2009; her parents; two sisters, Adele and Helga; and two brothers, Sigfred and Alfons. A graveside service will be held Monday, December 13, 2021 at 1:00 PM at Lincoln Memorial Park, 675 Rt. 30, Aurora, IL.
