Leslie A. Baumann, age 33, of Oswego, IL, passed away peacefully at home with her family by her side on April 21, 2014. Born January 8, 1981, in Aurora, IL, Leslie was the eldest daughter of Michael J. and Martha nee Cooper Baumann. She graduated from North Central College with her degree in education and went on to earn her Masters in Educational Leadership from North Central College. After graduation, Leslie first taught fourth grade at Fry Elementary and eighth grade English at Still Middle School, and then Freshman English at Neuqau Valley High in Naperville, Illinois. Leslie loved her pets, finding great clothes, spending time boating and swimming at Lake Carroll, dance, and bringing happiness to all those around her. She was a caring and understanding teacher, mentor, friend, sister, and daughter and was deeply devoted to all of her students and kids in and out of her classroom. She is survived by her parents, Michael and Martha Baumann of Oswego, sister, Katherine Baumann, also of Oswego, boyfriend Scott Brennan of Chicago, paternal grandparents William & Faith Baumann of Aurora, two golden retrievers Chelsea Buns and Bella, cats Frankie, Annie, and Pepper, and numerous treasured friends and family. Leslie was preceded in death by her cousin Scott and her beloved Nanny. A private interment service for the family will be held at Lincoln Memorial Park Cemetery in Aurora, IL. A public memorial celebration will be held 6:00 pm Sunday, April 27, 2014 at the Neuqua Valley High School Auditorium, 2360 95th Street, Naperville, IL 60564. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to any cause that benefits children. Leslie would want nothing more than a little extra happiness be injected into the life of anyone who needs it.
