BASIL B. AINSWORTH September 24, 1922 - May 24, 2019 Basil Betheul Ainsworth, 96, of Sheridan passed Friday, May 24, 2019 at his home with his loving family by his side. Basil was born September 24, 1922 in Draft, Arkansas to Archie & Lela (Rudisaille) Ainsworth. He was joined in marriage on November 8, 1944 in rural Sheridan to Elsie M. Foreman. Elsie passed December 14, 1993. He had retired after many years as a parts clerk for the Henderson Engineering Co. in Sandwich. Basil was a member of the Sheridan Seventh-day Adventist Church and at his passing was Sheridan's oldest resident. He is survive by his three daughters, Betty (Timothy) Platt of Sheridan, Shirley Delaney of Genoa, IL, Judy Krohne of Stroud, OK; a daughter in-law, Pamela Ainsworth; thirteen grandchildren, Deborah (Jim) Holmes, Brenda (Brian) Jones, Eric (Melissa) Christoffel, Melissa (Kenneth) Toles, Rebecca (Derek) Chambers, Gregory (Tiffany) Delaney, Christina (Steve) Bell, Jennifer (Brad) King, Regina Zwart, Dorian Ainsworth, Timothy Platt, Michael (Jennifer) Platt, Matthew (Tiffany) Platt; thirty-five great grandchildren and eight great-great grandchildren. Basil was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved wife Elsie; a son, Cecil R. Ainsworth; a brother, Norman Ainsworth; three sisters, Marcia Ainsworth-Morris, Grace Ainsworth-Lovett, Ruth Ainsworth-Slayter; two son in-laws, David W. Krohne and Timothy L. Delaney. According to Basil's wishes cremation services were conducted by the Gabel-Dunn Funeral Home Ltd in Sheridan. His cremains will be interred next to Elsie at the Elerding Cemetery in Sheridan.
