Barbara Elaine nee MacDaniel Tahl, age 81, entered heaven's gates on September 25, 2019. She was born January 23, 1938 in London, Ontario. She is the daughter of the late Atwell R and Johanna L nee Koch MacDaniel. Barb was an excellent student and graduate of Victoria Hospital's nursing program in London, Ontario. She was also a graduate of Moody Bible Institute in Chicago in 1965. While at Moody, she met her true love and husband of 55+ years, John Stinson Tahl. They married September 1, 1963. Together they raised three daughters in Elmhurst, IL. Barb worked as a Registered Nurse at West Suburban Hospital in Oak Park, IL for 25 years. She was compassionate, thoughtful, quick on her toes, confident and assertive when necessary, touching many patients lives during a time of great need. Later in her career, she enjoyed nursing at Elmhurst Clinic's ENT department. Barb had a 'servants heart' and spent many hours volunteering at her girls' schools, organizing block parties, working in the church nursery and singing in the church choir. She was the backbone to John's ministries and was happy to support him, as she admired him and believed in his missions. Barb passionately loved music and often sang while she played hymns on the piano. She went about her day with uplifting Christian music playing throughout the house. She also loved gardening and bird watching. Barb was a joyful person, to say the least. She loved inviting friends and family to her front porch swing where she would engage in light conversation. Barb had many friends and would generously go out of her way to help others. Barb loved God and was regularly involved with Adult Sunday School, Women's Ministries, Prayer Groups and Bible Studies. She raised her girls to trust and love Christ. She spoke often to her seven grandchildren about the love of Jesus and the importance of following Him. Although poor health plagued the last 10 years of her life, she still had her mind. Barb saw counseling others and prayer as the way to make a difference. She prayed daily for her children, grandchildren, extended family and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband John S Tahl. Her beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of her children Carole (Peter) Kanetis, Christine (Marc) Hoeksema, Caryn (Mike) Borowski; seven grandchildren John, Andrew, Elizabeth and Katherine Hoeksema, Abbey, Emma and Avery Borowski; her sister Ruth (John) Baxter and brother Jack (Nora) MacDaniel.
