Miller
May 3, 1934 – December 21, 2025
Barbara G. Miller She was born May 3, 1934, and went to be with her Lord & Savior December 21, 2025
Barb was born on May 3, 1934, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She grew up in Brookfield and Wauwatosa and graduated from the University of Wisconsin, Madison, with an Occupational Therapy degree. Then completed her MS in Occupational Therapy at the University of Minnesota. She worked at a large state hospital in Michigan for two years and then became the Assistant Director of O.T. at Milwaukee County Mental Health Center. Later she worked in Naperville District 204 with special needs students.
She met Ray Miller while skiing in Kitzbuhel, Austria. He was in the army, stationed in Germany and on a two-week leave. He served one more year and then they were married on February 8, 1964. There were many happy skiing trips in the Midwest and hikes in the Rockies and Tetons with children, Jeff and Jenna. They lived in Naperville for 18 years before building their "house in the country" in Oswego. It was on a wooded lot with a creek in back. Unfortunately, Ray only lived there for three years before dying of stage 4 cancer at 55 years old. Barb stayed there for another 6 years before moving to Arizona to join her mother, brother and sister-in-law there. When grandkids James and Abby came along, she moved back to Oswego where she joined the Oswego Presbyterian Church, a book group at the library, LLI, and PEO Chapter NY. She enjoyed gardening and sitting on the patio with her dog Shadow, watching the hummingbirds.
She was proceeded in death by her late brother James Orwin
She is survived by her daughter Jenna Miller, son Jeffrey Miller, daughter-in-law Janet Miller, grandson James Miller, granddaughter Abigail Miller, sister-in-law Julie Orwin and nephews Craig and Tom Orwin. She is fondly remembered by her nephew Michael Morse of State College, Pennsylvania.
