Audrie H Newby, age 77, of Oswego, IL passed away on Thursday, March 26, 2015 at Rush-Copley Medical Center in Aurora, IL. He was born March 28, 1937 in Tupelo, MS the son of the late James P and Velma Elton nee Gaines Newby. He grew up in the Tallahatchie River farming. Prior to his retirement he was employed as an arc welder for 37 years at All Steel Equipment Co in Montgomery, IL and as a dockworker for 10 years part-time out of the Aurora local of the Teamsters. He was a member of the Randall Baptist Church, Tiger Club of Aurora, IL and the Montgomery Memorial VFW Post #7452. He was an avid sports fan of, football, baseball and especially loved to play golf in his later years. His favorite music was gospel but, Country/Western "wasn't so bad" either. He is survived by his wife Helen nee Johnson, (whom he married on May 22, 1998 in Nashville, TN), daughters Phyllis (Kenny) Hensley of Sheridan, IL, Wanda (Scott Crumrine) Newby of Aurora, IL, step-daughter Rhonda (Jerry) West of Yorkville, IL, four grandchildren, two step grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, brother Herbert (Frances) Newby, also many nieces, nephews and friends. Visitation will take place on Monday, March 30, 2015 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM until at the DUNN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME with CREMATORY 1801 Douglas Rd Oswego, IL. Cremation will take place followed by a graveside service for with cremains on Saturday, April 4, 2015, 11:00 AM at Greenfield Memorial Park in New Albany, MS.
