In Loving Memory of Artemio "Memo" Gomez Jr.

August 4, 1993 - September 26, 2026

Artemio Gomez Jr., lovingly known by his family and friends as "Memo," was born on August 4, 1993, in Aurora, Illinois, to Maria del Socorro Ferrer and Artemio Gomez.

Memo was a man with a kind, generous, and loving heart. He was a loving son, a cherished brother, and someone his family could always look up to. He was the younger brother of Audelia Gomez, followed by his brothers Alejandro Gomez, Jonathan Gomez, Ricardo Gomez, Marcos Gomez, Sergio Gomez, and Hector Gomez.

He was also a beloved grandson to his grandparents, Ricardo Gomez, Audelia Niño, Jesus Ferrer, and Josefa Rodriguez, who each held a special place in his life and family history.

Memo had a natural talent for many things. Whenever he set his mind to something, he gave it his best and took pride in doing it well. No matter the job or challenge in front of him, he had a way of learning, figuring things out, and doing things with dedication. He worked as a truck driver, but his talents extended far beyond his profession. Through hard work, perseverance, and skill, he consistently found ways to accomplish any goal he set for himself.

While attending high school, Memo met Carina Diaz, the love of his life. What began as a strong friendship blossomed into a lifelong partnership built on love, commitment, and family. Together they were blessed with three beautiful children, Bella Gomez, Noah Gomez, and Camila Gomez, who were the center of his world and his greatest source of pride and joy.

Memo was a loving, present, and devoted father. He loved his children deeply and treasured every moment with them. To Bella, Noah, and Camila, he will always be remembered as the best dad-a father who was there for them, loved them unconditionally, and gave them memories they will carry throughout their lives.

For Carina, his wife and soulmate, his passing leaves a space in her heart that can never be filled. She will forever cherish the memories they created together and the life they built as a family. Carina, along with Memo's mother and siblings, will ensure that Bella, Noah, and Camila always know who their father was, the values he lived by, the love he had for his family, and the impact he made on the lives of those around him. Through the stories they share, the memories they preserve, and the love they continue to carry, Memo's legacy will live on for generations to come.

Memo was also a wonderful uncle to his niece and nephews: Joshua, Isaac, Ian, Edher, Alexander, Amanda, and Ashton. Each held a special place in his heart, and his love, laughter, and presence will be deeply missed.

Memo was not only loved by his parents, wife, children, siblings, niece and nephews, and grandparents. He was also deeply loved by his aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members, and the families who became connected to him through his siblings and their partners.

Each of those families mourns his loss and feels the pain of no longer having him physically present. To them, Memo was more than a relative-he was family, a friend, and a part of countless memories that will remain in their hearts forever.

Memo will be remembered for his kindness, his big heart, his many talents, his love for his family, and the way he made the people around him feel loved and valued. His passing leaves an emptiness that cannot be filled, but he also leaves behind a legacy of love that will last forever.

Although his life ended far too soon, the impact of his love will never fade. He will continue to live on through his children, his wife, his parents, his siblings, his nieces and nephews, his grandparents, his aunts and uncles, his cousins, his extended family, and all those who were blessed to know and love him.

We will love you forever, Memo.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 30, 2026, from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Dunn Family Funeral Home with Crematory 1801 S. Douglas Road, Oswego, IL. 60543. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, October 1, 2026, at 10:30 A.M. at St. Nicholas Catholic Church 308 High Street, Aurora, IL. 60505. Interment will follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery 278 Ashland Avenue, Aurora, IL. 60505
