With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Arlette E. Royhl, who departed this world peacefully on October 24, 2025, in Estero, Florida. Born on March 10, 1942, in Dolton, Illinois, Arlette was a beacon of love and laughter for those who were fortunate enough to know her.

Arlette lived a life filled with purpose and joy. She was a dedicated professional, working as a realtor and also sharing her knowledge as a realtor teacher. Her career was more than just a job; it was a passion that allowed her to connect with people and help them find their dream homes.

In her personal life, Arlette was a beloved sister, mother, grandmother, and friend. She is survived by her husband William "Bill" Royhl, They were married July 6, 1984, her siblings, Allen O'Keefe, and Art (Vickie) O'Keefe, her cherished children, Ken Whitehead, Scott Whitehead, David Whitehead, Mike Royhl, and Lisa Royhl, and her treasured grandchildren: Scott Whitehead, Jr., Kenny Whitehead, Danielle Gibson, Amanda Wollenweber, Matthew Whitehead, Madison Large, Olivia Royhl, Tony Royhl, Lauren Lanahan, and Emily Lanahan. Arlette also leaves behind five great-grandchildren, who brought immense joy to her life.

Arlette was deeply rooted in her community, particularly at the Crete United Methodist Church, where she was very involved and always ready to lend a helping hand to those in need. Her warmth and compassion knew no bonds. Known for her love of puzzles, cross-stitch, and playing cards, Arlette brought the family together for memorable vacations filled with laughter and joy. Her love for telling jokes was a signature part of her personality, always lighting up the room and bringing smiles to the faces of those around her.

Arlette was preceded in death by her loving parents, Earle O'Keefe and Geraldine (nee Burns) O'Keefe, who instilled in her the values of kindness and generosity that she carried throughout her life.

Arlette E. Royhl will forever be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend who filled the hearts of so many with her love, laughter, and unwavering spirit. She touched lives with her kindness and compassion, and she will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege to know her. May her soul rest in peace.

The world changes from year to year, our lives from day to day, but the love and memory of you shall never pass away.

A Celebration of life will be held on Saturday, November 15, 2025, from 10:00 A.M. until time of memorial service 12:00 NOON at Peotone United Methodist Church 105 N. West Street Peotone, IL 60468. A luncheon will follow services.

A plaque placement will be held on Monday, November 17, 2025, at 10:30 A.M. at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery 20953 W. Hoff Road Elmwood, Illinois 60421.
