Anna P. Gierek, age 89, of Oswego, IL, peacefully passed away on September 5, 2019 at Rush-Copley Medical Center in Aurora, IL. She was born July 25, 1930 in Chicago, IL, the daughter of the late Paul and Mary nee Antos Badowski. Prior to her retirement she worked as a billing clerk for Olympia Fields Osteopathic Hospital. She was a member of St. Anne Catholic Church in Oswego, IL. In her spare time she enjoyed reading, trips to the casino and her family. She is survived by her children Eugene G. (Roxanne) Gierek of Newcastle, WA, Mark P. (Julie) Gierek of Round Lake, IL, Kathleen A. (Scott) Witt of Oswego, IL, grandchildren Caitlin A. Witt, Alice A. Gierek, Melissa Babian, and sister Virginia Dal Porto of Plainfield, IL. She was preceded in death by her husband Eugene J. Gierek, son Guy Gierek and several brothers and sisters. A visitation will take place from Saturday, September 14, 2019 from 9:00 am until 10:30 am at DUNN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME with CREMATORY, 1801 S. Douglas Road, Oswego, IL 60543. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated the same day at 11:00 AM at St. Anne Catholic Church, 551 Boulder Hill Pass, Oswego, IL 60543. Burial will be private.
