Abigail Marie Carter, age 73, of Montgomery, IL, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, November 30, 2021 at Seasons Hospice Inpatient Center in Naperville, IL. She was born November 18, 1948 in Oak Park, IL, the daughter of William T. and Olive Elizabeth "Bessie" nee Fell Carter. Abigail was an accomplished musician, playing in the Chicago Youth Symphony Orchestra for the 1965-66 season and a member of the Sweet Adelines women's barbershop choir in the 1970's. She studied music at Butler University in Indianapolis, IN. She was very fluent in multiple instruments, but her instrument of choice was the flute. Her great skill allowed her to pick up any instrument and play by ear. In her spare time, she enjoyed playing the piano, photography and listening to music. Abigail is survived by her daughter Valerie (Kristofor) Simon, sisters Dorothy (Richard) Graton, Susan "Suzi" Schultz, former spouse Mark King and numerous nieces and nephews.
