Rose Marie Christopherson, age 88, of Streator, IL, passed away on Friday, November 12, 2021 at Light Way's Hospice in Joliet, IL. She was born January 1, 1933 in Aurora, IL, the daughter of Tracy and Ruth nee Oyen Johnson. Rose held a variety of jobs throughout her life, serving as Post Master in Millington, IL, selling Avon and was a homemaker. She supported her husband's passion for growing roses, loved to spend time outside, especially near the river. In her spare time she was a member of the Hiking Club and the Newark Social Circle. She is survived by her daughter Krista (Anthony) Torres of Sheridan, daughter-in-law Kimberly Christopherson, four step-grandchildren Stephen (Jen), Matthew (Stephanie), Michael (Megan) and Kathryn and dear friend Harley Anderson. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Melvin L. Christopherson, son Victor Christopherson, sister Naomi "Sis" Harker, niece Linda Eakins, nephew Gary Dunlop, nephew Dwayne Harker and cousin Lois Dunlop. A visitation will be held on Saturday, November 20, 2021 from 12:00 PM (Noon) to 1:00 PM at Gabel-Dunn Funeral Home, 102 S. Johnson Street, Newark, IL 60541.
