We ask on behalf of the family that you keep your comments uplifting and appropriate to help all who come here to find comfort and healing.
Richard Joseph Nowotnik, 75, of Montgomery, IL, passed away on Sunday, January 10, 2021 at Rush Copley Hospital in Aurora.
Born in 1945 in Chicago, IL to Leon and Helen Nowotnik. Richard was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Mary Lou (nee Penge), and their children; Ricky (who has preceded him in death), Michael, Shawn, and Kelly (Timothy) Waldron. He is also survived by his grandchildren who he devoted his life to: Nikki (who has preceded him in death), Sky, Mackenzie, Sam, Megan, Molly, Joey, Nick, Maggie, Sophia, and one great-grandchild, Mady.
Richard was also a cherished brother-in-law to Fred and Mary Penge, Dolores and Bob Kulesza, Ken Penge, Clarence Penge, (the late) Dorothy and Ronald Kowalczyk, Helen and (the late) Frank Losacco, and a large loving extended family.
When not spending time with his family, Richard enjoyed drawing, the outdoors, fishing, but most of all, woodworking.
Due to COVID restrictions, there will be a PRIVATE visitation (NO EXCEPTIONS). The family graciously requests that you respect the Covid mandates, which require no more than 10 people to be present. Though heartbreaking, for anyone else to attend Richard’s wake, mass, or funeral his wife, kids, or grandkids would have to leave to accommodate that person. We know this is difficult and wish he could be celebrated by all in-person. Thank you for your consideration.
The PRIVATE visitation is from 3:00 P.M. – 7:00 P.M. on Thursday, January 14, 2021, at DUNN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME with crematory, 1801 S. Douglas Road, Oswego, IL 60543.
A PRIVATE mass will take place on Friday, January 15, 2021, at St. Anne’s Catholic Church, 551 Boulder Hill Pass, Oswego, IL 60543, followed by a PRIVATE burial at Irving Park Cemetery in Chicago, IL.
