Nancy Lynn Pattison, 71, of Sheridan, IL passed away Friday, January 1st, 2021 at her home surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in McKeesport, PA. the daughter of the late Leo Francis and Vera Marie Reese nee Barkemeyer.
Nancy will be remembered greatly for her strong faith and her love for Jesus. That strong faith was evident in her daily early morning devotions, lengthy prayer lists, and her well-worn bible with many handwritten notes. Her volunteer time at church was spent helping with the church’s nursery and MOPS program. She loved to read and hear music, especially when it was gospel. She enjoyed cross stitching uplifting messages and Bible verses for family and friends. She loved to spend time with her family and seeing her grandchildren grow. She was a special education teacher for many years in Texas and in Somonauk, Illinois. After her retirement in 2015, she found the time to keep in touch with her former coworkers. She truly loved her students and touched many lives over the course of her teaching career. As her mobility decreased, she spent time encouraging family and friends through cards and texts.
Nancy is survived by her loving husband John whom she married almost 50 years ago on August 19th, 1971. She also is survived by her two sons John (Kari) Pattison III and Grant (Sarah) Pattison and 10 grandkids. Baylor (20), Eleni (18), Doran (17), Aiden (11), Roman (8), Liam (7), Evelyn (7), Owen (5), Daniel (4), Lily (3), her sister Geraldine “Geri” Henry and her brother Richard Reese.
